Ivan is a PDI offering automatic driving lessons in Warrington and Widnes. He has one year of instructor experience, more than 20 years of UK driving experience and has taught more than 30 learners.

He has particular experience helping nervous pupils and learners who lack confidence around busy junctions, roundabouts and meeting traffic. His previous management role in the health industry developed calm decision-making, communication and the ability to remain composed under pressure.

Teaching Approach

Ivan helps pupils understand why a technique works rather than asking them to memorise a routine. When teaching meeting traffic, for example, he looks at the available space, parked vehicles, priority and possible escape space instead of simply saying who should go first.

​

He uses coaching questions, short explanations and demonstrations. Analytical learners may receive more detail, while practical learners are given more opportunities to experience the situation. If a nervous pupil feels overloaded, Ivan may temporarily take responsibility for one part of the task while they concentrate on another.

​

For example, at a busy junction, he may initially help the learner identify a safe gap. His instruction then changes to “What do you think about this gap?” before the learner eventually makes the decision without a prompt.

​

Local Knowledge

Ivan teaches across Lingley Green, Sankey Bridges, Cuerdley, Bold Heath, Widnes, Appleton, Stockton Heath, Warrington town centre and surrounding areas. Lessons can begin on quieter residential roads before progressing to narrow roads with meeting traffic, busy junctions, crossroads, roundabouts and dual carriageways.

He regularly prepares learners for Atherton, Warrington and St Helens Driving Test Centres. Around Warrington, the A49, A57, Wilderspool Causeway and Bridgefoot are useful for practising lane selection, traffic-light junctions and roundabouts.
