Mo is an automatic driving instructor covering Leeds and Wakefield with one year of instructor experience. He specialises in nervous or anxious learners, learners returning after a previous test attempt and refresher learners.

Mo teaches learners to recognise developing hazards earlier, giving them more time to plan instead of reacting at the last moment.

Teaching Approach

When teaching meeting situations, Mo asks the learner to identify a suitable meeting point before deciding who has priority. For manoeuvres, he teaches learners how to recognise when the car is going wrong and how to correct it, rather than relying on a sequence that only works when everything goes perfectly.

​

For parking, Mo uses diagrams to explain the geometry of how the car moves and then teaches the learner to recognise when an adjustment is needed rather than memorising exact steering turns. If a learner struggles with several things at once, he separates the skills and rebuilds them step by step.

​

For example, a learner who could follow sat-nav directions but became distracted by trying to follow every instruction immediately. Mo taught them to prioritise road signs, markings and safety first and use the sat-nav as supporting information.

Local Knowledge

Mo teaches across Leeds, Wakefield, Castleford, Morley, Rothwell, Garforth and Kippax. His lessons include Leeds and Wakefield city routes, the A61 corridor, sections of the A650 and A642, residential roads around Rothwell and Morley, and faster connecting roads.

​

He regularly prepares learners for Wakefield Driving Test Centre and Leeds test centres. The A61 between Leeds and Wakefield is used for practice with changing speed limits, busy junctions and traffic moving at different speeds.

​

Training Car

Mo teaches in an automatic Toyota Yaris with dual controls, a reverse camera and parking sensors. The car is a hybrid.

Outside Driving Lessons

Mo enjoys badminton, hiking and family activities. He says badminton has taught him the importance of anticipation and reacting to what is developing rather than waiting until it happens, which he applies when teaching learners to anticipate the actions of other road users.
